November 21, 2016, Prescott-
Beneath a pale moon,
above sacred ground,
misguided footsteps
go on the offensive.
In a battle over water,
the liquid itself
becomes a weapon.
Icy water, cold hard rubber
and pepper spray
all make for a rude awakening.
There are no dead,
in the wake of
the raid by the new cavalry.
The dead hearts are
miles away,
in a corporate boardroom.
Nicely said, Gary! There are beginning to be such conflicts, though not yet demonstrations or violence, over water in the South Coast! It rained an inch last night — that won’t solve the drought, but it will definitely help get them through till desal water is available!

The ironic thing is that the Dakotas have plenty of water. The task there is to not contaminate it.

Me too. Sometimes it makes me a bit sad. Sometimes I think I’m watching someone die.
