Embered Waves of Brain

March 12, 2016, Prescott-   I have often wondered why my mildly autistic brain will start crackling and popping, often at the worst of times.  It is usually when I figure myself to be alone, and not accountable to anyone else.  I never am alone, in such circumstances.  There is always an outlier, or two, around, to observe, and shake their heads.  Because of them, I have a better awareness of my surroundings, and control over my thoughts and attendant behaviour.

Baha’u’llah teaches to not be the cause of sorrow to any soul, nor to be the plaything of the foolish.  We are, essentially, to be good in groups, and seek the unity of the human race.  The basis for all this is scientific, as well as social.  So, when reading, today, of the types of brain waves that human beings experience, a lot more made sense to me- about my own behaviour, and that of anyone else.  My thanks to Dr. Joe Dispenza,  (Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself) for the refresher on this topic, which I first learned, in 1974, from Dr. Saul Balagura, at the University of Massachusetts.

It goes like this:

Delta waves-These are the lowest frequency brain waves, occurring in infants and those in deep sleep.  They are also the default waves of one who is in deep meditation.  I’ve had a few people in my life who would swear, on a stack of Holy Books, that I am in permanent Delta mode.

Theta waves- These are found in toddlers and people who are in a hypnotic state. When one is drowsy, neither totally awake nor asleep, Theta waves are in control.

Alpha waves- Children between ages 5-8 experience these waves.  So do adults and youth who are in a light meditative state.  One is concerned primarily, in this state, with the inner reality.  I often lose track of where my car is, in a large parking lot, if I go into Alpha mode, when headed for the building without making note of my location.

Beta waves- These are the waves that are most commonly experienced by “tweens”, teens and adults.  You guessed it, there are three levels of Beta.  People with high level Beta waves are spring-loaded, tense, in a hair-trigger mode.  There is intense analysis of even the most mundane of events.  It is exhausting to be in constant High Beta mode.

Gamma waves-  These are the highest frequency brain waves, limited to Scarlett Johansson’s character, in the film, Lucy Jim Carrey’s character, in Bruce Almighty, and those who use hallucinogenic substances.  Gamma people are at the highest level of sensory awareness, which is likely not maintainable for any appreciable length of time.

My interest in this area stems from both a desire to better understand my own occasional lapses and to use brain waves to formulate deeper behavioural change, which I am told is possible, with proper meditation.

  1. frequencies and energies are interesting – normally somewhere around 55-65hZ we humans operate as a whole – yet the fear is an internal frequency of 4kXa obviously stimulating us to some kind of possible fight or flight – yet rose oil can approach 320Hz so far exceeds our normal state and thus would be stimulating whereas something like the biblical frankensense is 58 Hz or soothing in a way compared to our roughly 60 H normal operation… of course radiation of our internal electricities and thus even a simple thought is in fact substantitive yet little connects this scientifically to any specific conclusion and there is a wide variance of these “ranges” thus one person can be effected say living under a high power electric disurbution system say of high voltage wires….and another never notice it til it snows and the wires crackle at around a disturbing 60hz in their not natural way (fifty and other frequencies depending on locations outside the usa) now the bugger isn’t that connection and stimulation do not necessarily produce desirable outcomes- just like an overly acidic body as into the measured by cheap ph ph available at walgreens might be indicative of nothing or the onset of dangerous cancer which would run a person metabolically lower than 6.6pH and 60Hz but 5.5pH saliva and under 60Hz…so naturally kneejerk science would say suck in a feild of roses often! and mow through a few pounds of dark leafy greens to put one’s internal pH! I have not. seen this help but actually harm in that any chemical can interfere with prescribed chemicals and not all dietary intakes are well absorbed/able and even if so take some time to change the patterns present- the body seeks to remain the same and has a lot of resistances to this change hence 6 weeks might be a pattern or a new habit or have shown evidence of change. also, i’ve no proof of this save experience but say i quit smoking, many times i point to that moment i didn’t want one at all all day didn’t matter had not one desire- these times were not all dire medical emergencies either just some wierd moment didn’t want a puff. no six weeks just not interested and it stayed that way. not forever but past a day it would be odd to express that as i tend to want them anytime all the time.. you might notice i’m sharing this as you get deeper into natural healing i find it interesting still and haven’t moved past some connundrums or towards valuable healing insights save I’ve not found less colds with theives clenaer or oils of say young living utilizing the strongest oils originally to rob tombs 😉 even thieves are useful 😉 and not getting deadly plagues like so common to others I don’t remember them all but rosemary and cinnamon are two of them. if i skipped ONE cold even i’d wonder less and buy more. of course i did find one that flat out didnt work and that is tansy which frankly closes off my airways – it is available as blue tansy and i forget if it was for dematitis or something but is commonly in cheaper carpet powders. and before you ask – no, no evidence was given whether it cut dust mites or bed bugs down to actually clense the environs which would be nice to know if you’ve study buddies who investigate new sales pitches to explode the value of what are now dollar resources. so in a way I know somehow that to change is important but this is hard to just do. monetary investigations sour me as my health didn’t seem to improve with oils no matter how everyone else raved I would like to know something more on cypress oil in studied work how effective it is boosting circulatory health as such is of some concern to me. however cool i find francensense to smell it’s really asked to be avoided by those with renal troubles so sometimes my desires are false guides. i hate patchouli’s pepper stench but find a purer ylang ylang to be plesantly sweet. I live in an area set well used to spraying mosquitos dead after “west nile virus” hit so i can not actually tell you how effective purification’s maily citronella oil actually is i rarely see a mosquito anymore. I have heard though it aids in combating the sting of buzzer insects but now dear flies are more of an issue and those lil blights sure smart something awful. and while it’s not a big fear, i do dislike tempting wasps or buzzer insects by too many desirable oils- yet i haven’t any proof of this at all. so if you’ve mojo to make this work- all this fine study of health- grand and grander fortunes for you – i bought a lot of stuff at discounted prices and haven’t much to share on any grand plane of importance which doesn’t mean the blessings aren’t there .

    • Young Living oils are all sourced from plants grown in the United States. Not all essential oils are efficaciously derived from just any soil, water and air. There are optimum places, throughout the world, for such plants to be grown, and for their oils to be sourced. Also,YL products are NOT to be taken internally. Only Certified, Therapeutic Grade oils may be safely ingested, and then only 2-3 drops every 5-6 hours, on the tongue or in a beverage. One gets what one purchases.

  2. I used to attend some Buddhist retreats back in SL.
I was taught how to walk looking only at your feet in front. And concentrating only of the walk. 🙂 It was amazing.
And I loved the mediation. 🙂

  3. Hmmm — love the title of this — I wondered as a kid what the word “donzerly” means in the national anthem — turned out it talks of the “dawn’s early light!” I sometimes think these levels of meditation can overlap — one can display 2 levels at once ~ ~ ~
