February 17, 2021-
As many are concerned about the planet heating up,
there is snow on the beach,
at Galveston, Texas and
chilly nights in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Snowball fights were going on
at the foot of the Acropolis.
Mercifully, there is no converse extreme heat,
in the southern hemisphere,
at least not yet.
The strange thing is,
that the polar vortex comes our way
even as the arctic permafrost keeps melting
and the icebergs keep calving, off Antarctica.
We must be flexible, and adapt-
but to what?
It’s ironic, isn’t it, that as the planet warms it will create more disastrously cold winters!

It certainly is-and it is a cautionary tale for all who, like certain Texans, think they can just go it alone.

The better term is climate change instead of global warming. Both are true but the changes are going to include extremes in hot and cold…
