No Doldrums This Time

2

December 19, 2023-

When my day starts with a message from the human being I love most dearly,

when my efforts on behalf of a group of children are acknowledged and appreciated,

when I am able to listen to a presentation by a highly-esteemed spiritual teacher,

when my little nest egg continues to show the security that enables me to live in service,

when many of those I also love dearly continue to show up in this humble life, and provide affirmations,

when I can honestly say that affirmations from within myself arise much more readily,

when I see that at least some in power are acknowledging, and working towards relief of, the pain being meted out to the homeless (both military veterans AND civilians), the dispossessed from the Global South, the victims of the Lahaina fires, the refugees in Gaza, the refugees in Darfur, those who suffered losses in weather-related events this week, those displaced in Iceland,

I feel no doldrums, this December.

Love Spreads Out

2

February 24, 2019-

One gets back the love

that one spreads out.

I’ve learned that,

even when I feel

out of sorts.

it’s best to give.

It’s best that

love expands.

So, a long-time friend

was freed to be

able to work and get around,

as the work week approaches.

So, a sweet young lady

is much appreciated,

for her hard work,

this evening.

So, I feel that my son

has taken the main

life lessons,

we taught him,

to heart and

to daily practice.

So, I feel that

my life,

in this last week

of an unusual month,

is on a most blessed,

fruitful path-

and that this

is nothing new.

Radiating Outward,Absorbing Inward

11

October 29, 2018, Prescott-

I am now given to saying this personal prayer, in a quiet time of day, preferably at dawn.  This is not a revealed verse. It merely reflects my humble sentiments.

” O Creator of all,

Preserve this soul and protect its human host,

from all that is vile and treacherous,

whether within or outside.

Protect this humble home,

and all who shelter within it,

from those forces which mean harm.

Guard this community,

and guide its residents

to do right by themselves,

their families and their neighbours.

Bless this city, county,

state and nation,

and lead us to do right,

by one another and by those

who appeal to us for help.

Give them the strength

to do for themselves,

as dignity and justice

shall illustrate.

Radiate your blessings

upon this continent,

this hemisphere,

this planet.

May the hurt of one

truly be seen

and heard

as the hurt of all.

“Let deeds, not words,

be your adorning”-Baha’u’llah

Maternal is Eternal

May 13, 2018, Prescott-

I made my call

and was reassured.

Mom stands tall

and is never ignored.

What of you,

my friends who are

also mothers?

I know you as

Diane, April, Christina,

Janet, Mel, Lisa,

Amberley.

Your kids,

your blessings,

call you Mom,

Mama, Madre,

Mother Dear.

You give the best of yourself,

without guilt or shame,

loving each and every child,

never casting blame,

or aspersions.

Love knows no diversions.

There will never be a time,

when you are not

treasured,

by one, two, three

for eternity.

Happy Mother’s Day,

and I love you all, too.
